2 Reasons Not To Buy A Treadmill To Put In Your Home

If you're sick of commuting every day to the gym and would rather just get a workout at home, you've probably been tempted to spend your money on a treadmill. While there are exercises that you can do on a treadmill, you may be better off saving your money and getting some smaller equipment that will do a better job.

Treadmills are big and bulky and will take up a lot of space in your house. If you have a whole room devoted to exercising, then this may not be a problem. If not, you may have trouble finding space to put it.

But the real problem comes in where jogging on a treadmill just isn't that great of an exercise. If you're trying to lose fat or keep it off, the treadmill can make it seem hard or almost impossible to make any progress.

This is because jogging for a long time at a steady pace will actually burn off your muscle tissue. You need that muscle to keep your metabolism high consistently to help your body burn off fat. When you burn it off on the treadmill, your metabolism goes down and it becomes increasingly harder to lose weight and then keep it off.

Instead of the treadmill, invest in some dumbbells. They are much smaller, easier to store, and cost less so they won't break your budget. Plus with a little know-how you'll be able to get a much better exercise that will actually help you burn the fat and keep it off permanently.

Doing exercises with dumbbells like squats and standing rows and dead lifts will help your body build muscle. This muscle will increase your metabolism and will help you reach your fitness goals much faster.
